I have just read over all my previous LJ entries out of curiosity to see what was happening this time last year and it was very interesting. It's strange to see how much thoughts, feelings and events have panned out and how your view of the future as you held it back then has changed so much.
One of the main things that made me laugh is the posts about Chi: I had been given a tour by a student who's main interest was sport and who had obviously not had a good time in halls. His negative attitude rubbed off on me and made me not like Chi at all! But seeing the uni though my own experienced at the audition opened my eyes to the possibility of being happy there and now after just a term of uni life, I can't imagine myself being happy anywhere else at uni. Chi seems like the perfect place for me, just the right size and with plenty of support for those who need it and plenty of opportunity to become your best. I admit, had I been in halls, I may have not been quite so happy but I love my housemates and my house and have made some great friendships that should last for quite some time.
Another thing I noticed about previous posts was how stressed I was this time last year. I have no such stress now. I have arrived at where I want to be and am working steadily toward the future. That part of my life is now over, as is my relationship with Dave. It was an amazing year we had together and as I have said, he still has a place in my heart as a true friend, even as a new chapter of my life begins with a new love.
I miss Alex so much now we are apart for the first time. Our relationship has been so intense and close since we met that it hurts to say goodbye. I can't wait to be back in his arms.
